Can Dogs Get the Flu

We’ve already felt the shift in temperature. The leaves are falling and the seasons are changing. This also means that as it gets colder, more illnesses seem to pop up. One especially–the Flu.

Keeping your dog safe is a huge priority, but “safe” can look different to a variety of people. So what exactly are we talking about here?

If you’ve ever seen your dog (or even a human for that matter) become infected with the Flu, you know the havoc that wreaks upon their body. They are exhausted, vomiting, fever, chills, and can hardly move or get out of bed. We know how scary this is because it seems like there isn’t anything you can do to fix it immediately.

It’s also scary because you just have to wait it out, but this is where you rely on their immune system.

Some people may try to push Flu vaccines, but those can have their own list of side effects and possibly not even prevent your dog (or you) from getting the Flu. It’s also possible to have a long recovery time to get back to normal if you or your pet do get the Flu.

We know that you have options, and we are here to discuss that. If you do decide to get vaccinated, you should base that on safety and prevention. Look at the statistics of the side effects afterwards, and how efficient it was in preventing infection of the Flu.

What Do We Recommend?

We recommend the risk free option.

First, it all starts in the immune system. If you or your pet are working with a strong immune system, chances are you won’t get the Flu, and if you do, it wouldn’t be as difficult to get through.

Make sure that your pet is getting supplements specifically for boosting their immune system. We recommend Canine Immune Complete for this.

We also suggest checking into a Homeopathic Vet. Rather than giving you endless prescriptions for the problem, they will find natural routes to help your pet. These solutions will work on fixing the immediate problem, and help your pet long term.

Have you ever experienced your dog get the Flu? What worked for you? Let us know in the comments.
